About Me

I’m Jamie, and I am a self-proclaimed foodie.  Actually, if you ask anyone who knows me, they would all probably agree.  As both a foodie and a student working towards a BS in Food and Nutrition Management, my life seemingly revolves around all things edible.  I enjoy being outdoors almost as much as being in the kitchen, and you can often find me reading (usually about food), writing (also about food), hiking (while often thinking about food), or grocery shopping (I think that one is self-explanatory).

My Primal Story. . .
Studying nutrition has been an eye-opening experience for me.  It seems like everyone has a different opinion on what, when, how, where, and how much to eat.  As a result, over the years my foodie self has suffered some inner turmoil.  After experiencing much confusion about food, I stumbled upon “The Paleo Diet” while skimming through an issue of People Magazine and was intrigued enough to do a little research.  I expected it to be some crazy fad diet that promises instant weight loss after bouts of bingeing and starvation; but, what I found instead was a seemingly logical, healthy approach to food and our human relationship with it.  I then researched it even further and found that the right balance for me included many Primal ideas, such as the occasional consumption of high-quality dairy….and I finally found my food niche in the Primal lifestyle.

In short, I hope you enjoy my anecdotes and recipes, and that you are able to find your own food niche, as well.
